Light it up

So have you ever gotten totally ministered to a song or movie that had nothing to do with Jesus? I get such a kick out of those moments...it just really shows you how much God is with us even when you don't acknowledge his presence. seƱor Holy Spirit can use anything :)
On the plane, I found out that one of the movie selections was the movie Croods. As my friends know, in true form, i selected that cartoon which totally put me in my happy place on the 12ish hour flight to Japan. I even stopped sideways glaring at the adorable old man next to me because he could cross his legs and I could not.

So this movie is about this caveman family who lived in a dark cave (shocking) and feared anything new or different. Their family belief system was if we tried anything new we would die so the old way is better. Be afraid of everything. The father of this family was the protector and had a problem with his daughter because she hated staying in the dark and wanted to explore. So there was quite  a lot of problems between the father and the daughter.
The Earth's land starts to break up and shift  to the positions that we see today which means that they lost their beloved cave. Their journey draws them to this new land that is lush, colorful, and green compared to their rock and dust past. With the help of the daughter and a new friend that they meet on the way, the family start to enjoy this new life ( like finding out what fire is) and adventure that life can be...expect the Father. All he wanted to do was find a dark cave and hide. But as all cartoons go, this father has a change of heart and as a declaration to his family he states:
" No, ( inferring to finding the dark cave he wanted to live in) i am going to follow the light" ....aaaaaaand que Holy Spirit

I about yelled and /or squeezed that adorable old man next to me ( which by the way I totally busted him watching "The Notebook" )

I' m going to follow The Light

Doesn't that take off so much of the burden of life to figure everything out? Follow The Light. He will
guide you, He will help you figure out how to respond and act when u are in certain life phases or circumstances.

So  applying  this statement to this trip into the red light districts, we are following The Light. You can't tell me that Jesus wouldn't want to be in these red light districts. He was known for associating himself with people like that and He would be right smack dab in the middle of these places. He will guide us who to talk you, how to minister, and what to say.

You can't tell me all those girls are lost without redemption . You cant tell me these traffickers are a people group that don't have access to the cross for forgiveness like everyone else. you cant tell me the sex tourists can't be washed clean and white as snow again.  I see The  Light wanting to burst forth in dark places. We, as his children, need to follow him.

I'm going to follow The Light

So simple even the caveman got it.
